The immediate environment

From our house and grounds you look out over the beautiful hills of the Combraille and the Creuse. An undiscovered pearl in the middle of France.

The Combraille are the foothills of the old volcanoes of Auvergne.

It is a hilly green area, where forests and pastures lined by farm hedges alternate. An area of natural peace and beauty.

From the house you can walk straight into the beautiful nature and you can make cycling trips (for the more experienced cyclist). There is a chance of encountering small game such as deer, foxes, martens and many birds of prey.

We also have several books with walks in the area, which we gladly give to you to discover all the beauty together with your dog.

About 4 km from our house is the village of Saint Maurice près Pionsat, where you will find a small supermarket with a bread outlet.

The lake near the village is a lovely place to spend warm days. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed here.

Pionsat

Pionsat is 18 km away and is a village/town of just over 1,000 inhabitants.

Central is the partly medieval castle, which you can visit in summer.

The pretty church and the old town hall flank the castle.

On the adjacent square there is a cosy market with vegetables, fish, poultry, and regional products every Friday morning. In Pionsat you will find all necessary amenities: pharmacy, supermarket, bakery, doctor, physiotherapist, bank with ATM, petrol pump, optician and two (English-speaking) estate agencies.

Auzances

Auzances is a town 12 kilometres from us, in the department of la Creuse.

As in Pionsat, you can go here for your daily shopping in the supermarket, the small local shops, grab a terrace and enjoy the surroundings and what the French countryside has to offer. There is a large market here on Tuesday mornings.

In the immediate vicinity you can visit several castles.
